Whole30 Week Two Update

To the best of my ability, I’ve avoided vegetables my entire life; I never particularly cared for them and they weren’t a big part of my diet. It’s been two weeks since I’ve started Whole30 and I can confidently say that I’ve had more vegetables than I’ve had in my entire life. There are a few reasons I wanted to do Whole30, two of which was to see if my energy levels would increase and if my skin would clear up. The point of Whole30 is to detox your body, so for one month, I’m cutting out gluten, dairy, and sugar. I’ve also challenged myself to drink the daily recommended amount of water.

Week one surprisingly wasn’t that bad. I was anticipating that I would be a complete grouch and crave all the food I couldn’t have, but because I focused on meal prepping I didn’t find myself wanting anything else.

However, week two was much harder. I was fine with the food I was eating, except I was craving chocolate. It was honestly tough to keep myself from “cheating”, but I did it.

So far, I definitely feel like I have more energy. I’m not sure whether that’s from the water intake or the food (probably both), but I think it’s working well. The only downside is that my skin hasn’t improved, but since it’s only been two weeks, I’m not overly surprised.

Stay tuned for my final blog post on Whole30 – what worked, what didn’t, and a few of my Whole30 meals (this is optional but might be fun) that I ate during my time.

Is anyone else doing Whole30 this January? How’s it going for you?

xx, mm
