Visiting a Plantation

One thing we knew we wanted to do on the road trip was visit a plantation. On our way to Charleston, South Carolina, we stopped at Magnolia Plantation. There were quite a few plantations to choose from. These beautiful and stunning estates are a piece of history and we knew we needed to see one for ourselves.

The drive to the plantation was beautiful; the sun peaked through the trees as we winded down the road to the main house. When we got there, the air was so humid and there were a lot of bugs (pro tip: don’t be us, bring bug spray) but it didn’t take away from how stunning it was. We spent the afternoon wandering the grounds and the garden paths, exploring the estate, and walking across all the bridges. We learned about the history of the plantation and left feeling like we had truly experienced something magical. It was the perfect start to the Charleston leg of the trip.

If you’re visiting Charleston, I highly suggest stopping at a plantation. It wasn’t too expensive and with so many to choose from, you’re sure to enjoy yourself.
