Life Update: I'm Moving to Denver!
Life Update: I’m Moving to Denver
When I was in the third grade, I visited New York City for the first time. After that trip, I knew I would live there someday. Fast forward nine years and I attended college on Long Island, had the opportunity to go to the city as often as possible, and moved to Brooklyn right after graduation. After two years of living in one of the greatest cities, I decided I wanted a change. Similar to the feeling I had about New York, I’ve always felt drawn to Colorado and on my first visit to Denver, I knew I would live there one day too.
Although I will always love New York, I began thinking it was time to move. I didn’t come to my decision lightly; leaving the city that has it all, leaving my incredible group of friends and support system, going to a new place without a job or a clue what I was going to do was a conclusion I thought about for months. But ultimately, the West was calling me and I knew it was time for something new.
Before leaving NYC, I brunched at some of the best restaurants, visited new museums, and spent time with the people who mattered most. A few weeks before I left, my friends threw me a surprise going away party at my favorite restaurant. It was truly one of the kindest gestures and made leaving them that much harder. But it was one of those moments where I just had to stop and appreciate everyone in my life. Luckily, I’ve convinced almost all of them to visit me in Colorado.
I’d be lying if I wasn’t terrified… but I am beyond excited. Don’t worry, you will still find me wearing mostly black clothing and exploring all the local coffee shops but I’ll just be doing it in a brand new city that I am thrilled to call home.
So, cheers to new places, new adventures, and all that’s to come in Denver!
