Show week is one of the most crazy/ stressful/ rewarding weeks of the semester. I recently finished the faculty dance concert for the fall semester at Hofstra University. I can honestly say that I have never danced as much as I did this semester in my life. From daily classes to club and faculty rehearsals, I was dancing close to 30 hours a week. Although it was exhausting at times I would give anything to go back to those rehearsals.
Leading up to the show we had tech rehearsals until 11 o'clock at night. On top of that, I also had midterms. As much as I was excited for everything to be over and finally have some free time, I tried to approach show week with as much positivity as possible. I wanted to make the most out of each show and appreciate the amazing opportunity of dancing on stage.
Dancing on the stage is an experience like no other. There is no greater feeling than the ability to showcase all of the hard work and dedication over the past few months. Those few moments on stage make all those months of long rehearsals worth it.
Have you ever performed on stage before?
