The other night I went into the city to see a performance at New York City Center, ALONE. I stress the alone part because it was not intended. I debated whether or not to even go but knew I would regret not going.
I like to think I know my way around the city well enough to get where I need to go with a little help from Hopstop and google maps but I usually have a friend to help with directions. With all of the decisions on me, I navigated my way around midtown and made it to the theatre with time to spare!
I was proud of myself for successfully getting to the show. This may be a small feat for others but for a first timer like me, it was quite an accomplishment. I'm happy I ended up going to the show, not only because the performance was spectacular but because I did something I've never done before and I realized how much I enjoyed it. Going to the city alone and wandering around is an experience like no other.
Have you ever been in the city by yourself before?
