Last week I crossed hiking a mountain off of both my summer bucket list and my 101 in 1001 list. Paige and I had been planning on doing this for some time now and decided to hike Mt. Monadnock located in New Hampshire.
I was under the impression that this would be an easier mountain to hike. We picked what we thought was going to be a beginner trail since neither of us had much experience hiking. Unfortunately the trail turned out to be extremely difficult. It also seemed to be never ending. We quickly found ourselves scaling rocks.
By the time we got to the top we were incredibly sweaty and tired. I celebrated reaching the summit by attempting a headstand. It was a tad windy and after nearly falling a few times I finally got it.
I'm incredibly proud of myself for completing the hike, however it was honestly one of the hardest things I have ever done. I can't say for sure if I will every hike a mountain again, but I'm happy I did it.
Have you ever hiked a mountain before?
