This past weekend my boyfriend Petey came up for a quick visit. We had a great time exploring the city. He had never really been to the city, so I was able to show him around. He's an art major at Mass Art in Boston, so I wanted to take him to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was a beautiful day in the city. It was 70 degrees!!! To get to the Met we walked through Central Park. There were so many people out having picnics or taking a stroll. It made me wish I lived in the city.

I've only been to the Met once in high school for a field trip  and was quite excited to return. I loved seeing all the artwork. It's truly inspiring. When I was in high school I took art all four years. I've always loved art and creating your own work but by the end of AP senior year, I needed a break. After looking at all of the paintings, it got me wanting to start painting again. Petey was so excited to see so many of the paintings that he had learned about in art history class. It was as if he was a little boy on Christmas morning. After wandering throughout all of the galleries, we sat on the Met steps to decide what to do next.

We soon realized how hungry we were and made our way to a small pizza shop. Petey and I love pizza. He stuck with the original cheese while I had a combination of sausage and pepperoni. It was the perfect meal to fuel us for the next leg of our adventure.

Petey had never been to Times Square before, so of course that was an absolute must. He was amazed by the craziness of it all. The insane amount of bodies packed into every sidewalk and store. By the end of the day we were exhausted but it was a lovely lovely day!
